Check back in the Spring for 2024 Fall Courses!

We have exciting options coming this Fall!

Examples of past courses below:

Exploring the Water: SUP & Kayak

The Midcoast provides so many bodies of water in such close proximity that learning multiple ways of travel benefits exploration and enjoyment of lakes, ponds and streams. In this course, participants will learn the basics of paddle boarding and kayaking under the guidance of Registered Maine Guides from Maine Sport Outfitters.

Whether new to these vessels or seasoned, kids will learn safety, skill and socialization through working individually and as part of the group while enjoying two afternoons honing each craft and one weekend day on the water going for a longer expedition.

Fishing and Camp Craft

Patience, precision, luck, knowledge and more patience are all qualities that lead to the catch.  Join seasoned Maine Sport guides to practice the art of fishing as you venture to different local hot spots to cast and cast and cast. Casting from shore and canoe will be part of this course which will begin with the fundamentals of spin fishing and have one session dedicated to learning about fly fishing including tying knots, equipment and casting practice led by the veteran fly fishermen/fisherwomen.

Participants will build skills and hopefully friendship as the small group sets out on four afternoons to see what's biting.  Along with fishing tactics, you will learn camp craft including fire building and wilderness survival.  If successful in catching fish, participants will have the opportunity to take fish home to cook.  Whether you are a seasoned fisher-kid or looking to pick up a new skill, this course is for you!

Hiking the Hills

We are surrounded by glorious trails, hidden gems and popular sites; by experiencing a week of fun and adventurous group hikes this course could ignite a love of taking the path less travelled. The guides will teach route-planning, leave no trace ethics, team-building and group dynamics as well as introduce new places to explore.

Kids will be outside, with each other, learning survival skills such as building wilderness shelters and making fires, under the guidance of experts from Mountain Sea Expeditions. Participants come away with a sense of navigation, map-reading and a desire to explore more local trails.
